Physical Therapist is needed to perform the following duties:
o Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
o Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
o Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
o Test and measure patient's strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, or respiratory or circulatory efficiency and record data.
o Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment required.
o Obtain patients' informed consent to proposed interventions.
o Administers physical therapy treatments by giving massages, manual therapy, strengthening and stretching exercise, applying physical agents like moist packs, TENS, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines; directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
o Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
o Inform patients and refer to appropriate practitioners when diagnosis reveals findings outside physical therapy.
o Discharge patient from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
o Advising the patient and family about in-home treatment options and exercises
o Maintains patient confidence and protects medical record by keeping information confidential.
o Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.
o Perform General Physical Activities - Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Bachelor's Degree is required in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy.
