Units Available:
Our Medical Oncology PCU is a specialized unit that cares for some of the most critical oncology/hematology patients. Critical thinking is alive on this fast-paced oncology unit. Carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and central nervous system cancers are just some of the diagnosed cancers that we treat. Our nurses become specialized in oncology and the ability to administer chemotherapy with a chemotherapy certification.
Our Bone Marrow Transplant PCU is dedicated to caring for patients undergoing treatment for hematological malignancies and blood dyscrasias including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia, and myelofibrosis. BMTU specializes in the care of patients who are undergoing peripheral blood stem cell, bone marrow, and cord blood transplants. Our program is accredited by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cell Therapy (FACT), which is a threshold for excellence in cellular therapy and demonstrates our commitment to our patients.
Our Surgical Oncology PCU is populated mostly by gynecologic oncology patients. These are women with ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulva, & endometrial cancers. We typically see these patients when they come in for surgery, either to have their mass removed or a total abdominal hysterectomy. Any empty rooms are typically filled with overflow from the other oncology units, so we see all types of cancer on this unit.
