Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Tow Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles using specialized tow trucks, including flatbed and other recovery equipment. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and driving will ensure efficient and secure vehicle recovery and transportation. Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover, load, and transport vehicles of various sizes and types.
- Use automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to assess vehicle conditions and determine appropriate recovery methods.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring proper securing with straps, chains, or other equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and team members during vehicle recovery processes.
- Maintain detailed records of all towing activities, including logs of loads transported and any incidents or damages.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment such as flatbeds, winches, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist with automotive repair or mechanical troubleshooting when necessary, leveraging mechanic experience and automotive repair skills.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed models or similar recovery vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Experience working with manual transmissions preferred.
- Ability to load, unload, and secure vehicles safely using appropriate equipment like straps or chains.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict professionally when needed.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual load & unload tasks, and work in various weather conditions.
- Additional certifications such as mechanic experience are a plus.
