Process Technician – Join TSMC Arizona and Shape the Future of Semiconductor Manufacturing!
Are you a detail-oriented, tech-savvy individual who thrives in problem-solving and analytical roles? Are you ready to grow your career in a position that offers hands-on training and opportunities for advancement—even if you’re coming from outside the tech or manufacturing industries? If so, TSMC Arizona is looking for you!
At TSMC Arizona, we believe great talent comes from all industries. Whether you have experience in customer service, administration, healthcare data analysis, government, or other fields, this could be your opportunity to transition into a role at the forefront of technological innovation.
This office-based role is perfect for those with an Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree who enjoy working with data, systems, and complex processes. No prior semiconductor or technical manufacturing experience is required—we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed.
What You’ll Do
As a Process Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient production of world-class semiconductor chips. You’ll act as the “manufacturing detective” or “system analyst” of the production floor, working in a control-center-like setting. Here’s a closer look at your responsibilities:
- Monitor & Operate Automated Systems: Keep a close eye on production systems and dashboards to ensure semiconductor wafers meet exacting quality standards.
- Analyze Data & Solve Problems: Use tools like Excel to review and interpret production data, identify patterns, and troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
- Respond to Alarms: When a system signals an error, you’ll follow decision trees and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to resolve the issue and maintain production flow.
- Collaborate with Engineers: Work closely with engineering teams to restore stability, refine procedures, and continuously improve processes.
- Document & Communicate: Log key information, document actions, and pass along insights to teammates during shift changes to ensure smooth transitions.
This isn’t a hands-on mechanical repair role—it’s a dynamic, analytical position where you’ll use your problem-solving skills and attention to detail to make data-driven decisions that directly impact production quality and efficiency.
Why This Role Is Unique
- No Semiconductor Experience? No Problem! We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and provide a 6–12-month comprehensive training program to ensure your success. This includes classroom learning, on-the-job training (OJT), and team mentorship.
- Career Transition Opportunity: If you’ve worked in customer service, administration, healthcare data analysis, or other industries, you’ll find your skills in problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail highly transferable to this role.
- Office-Based Role: You’ll work in a control-room environment, not a mechanical or hands-on repair position.
- Cutting-Edge Technology: Be part of a team producing the most advanced computer chips in the world, including 4nm, 3nm, and 2nm semiconductor processes.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who are analytical, reliable, and eager to learn. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed:
Must-Haves
- Education: Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree required (preferably in a STEM-related field, but all disciplines are encouraged to apply).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to analyze complex data, follow procedures, and ensure precision in every aspect of production.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Comfortable troubleshooting and making decisions based on SOPs and real-time system data.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work 12-hour day or night shifts (3–4 days per week) in a compressed workweek schedule.
Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
- Technical certifications or prior experience in manufacturing, data analysis, or process control.
- A background in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math).
