American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and active MO or compact RN licensure.

13-week contract (with potential for extension beyond 13 weeks)

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 29 patients across 30 beds
-
Patient population includes general intermediate, sepsis/infection, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, AMI, CVA/TIA, altered mental status, ETOH withdrawal, SI, general post-op, ortho, urology, and GI bleed
-
Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)

Weekend requirement: 4–6 shifts every 6 weeks

No on-call required

Floating required within the service line and to sister facilities as needed

Navy scrubs required

Active RN license in Missouri (MO) or a compact RN license currently in hand; Kansas RN licensure also required due to potential floating between facilities

Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days

Required skills include: telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown experience, cardiac drip management (no titration), blood product administration, central/peripheral line and PICC line care, IV insertion and maintenance, heparin protocols, PCA management, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), HFNC and oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, feeding tube care, and isolation precautions

2 professional references required: one must be supervisor-level or above, and the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

First-time travelers are accepted; travel experience is preferred

RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract

Travel partners are not accepted for this position

Online compliance modules are required and typically completed prior to the start date, with approximately 10–15 hours total

No pending licenses accepted — all required licensure must be in hand at time of consideration
