Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Mobile Small Engine Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of small engines and equipment in the field. Your expertise will ensure that our customers’ outdoor power equipment, including lawnmowers, generators, and other small engines, operate at peak performance. Duties
- Diagnose issues with small engines such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, generators, and other outdoor power equipment using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs including engine rebuilds, electrical troubleshooting, carburetor cleaning, and component replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacements, and system inspections
- Follow safety protocols while working with electrical systems, diesel engines, and heavy machinery to ensure a safe work environment
- Collaborate with customers to explain repair procedures and provide recommendations for ongoing maintenance or upgrades
- Maintain detailed service records and update repair logs accurately for each job performed
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background specializing in small engine repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines along with electrical systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals confidently
- Experience repairing equipment such as generators, lawn equipment, and heavy machinery like Caterpillar products
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and other maintenance tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various outdoor conditions for extended periods
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures relevant to small engines and outdoor equipment
- Familiarity with automotive repair principles is a plus but not required
- MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE WITH AN ENCLOSED TRAILER
