Duties
- Assist podiatrists during examinations, surgical procedures, and treatments by preparing equipment and ensuring sterile conditions
- Take and record accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates for outpatient and inpatient patients
- Conduct patient intake assessments by gathering medical histories, current symptoms, and medication information using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging and basic wound care within clinic or hospital settings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, including sterilization of instruments and preparation of treatment rooms
Skills
- Knowledge of, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to foot and ankle health
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation, order entry, and coding processes
- Ability to perform intake assessments, record vital signs accurately, and assist with medication administration
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures and basic emergency medicine protocols within clinic environments
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and those requiring medical-surgical or internal medicine care
