Care 4 U Community Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist.
Duties include:
- Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical test (e.g. blood pressure, height, weight, temperature)
- Recording basic medical histories
- Explaining minor treatment procedurs to patient
- Assisting the physician/nurse practitioner during exams
- Drawing blood/venipuncture
- Collecting & preparing laboratory specimens
- Performing basic lab tests on site (e.g. A1C, urine dip site, CLIA waived pregnancy & HIV screening, hemoglobin, glucose tests)
- Taking electrocardiograms (EKG)
- Instructing patients about medication & special diets
- Preparing & administering medications as directored by physician/nurse practitioner
- Transmitting prescription refills as direct by physician/nurse practitioner
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Must possess a valid state MA, CNA or EMT certification
- Must possess phlebotomy certification
- 1 year experience in a medical office
- Legible handwriting is required
- Must pass AHCA & Medicaid background check
Desired Qualification:
- Experience with diverse populations
- Trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole)
- Computer literate
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers and practice manager
- Strong attention to detail.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
