Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Caregiver to join our team, providing essential support and personalized care to individuals in various settings. Duties
- Assist residents or patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition; report changes promptly
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring nutritional needs are met according to care plans
- Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments, outings, or community activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and manual handling procedures
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for patient transfers safely and effectively
- Assist with memory care needs including Alzheimer's and dementia care by implementing tailored strategies and engaging residents in meaningful activities
- Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities through direct support and individualized care plans
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding resident progress or concerns
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in caregiving roles within group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia is highly valued. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques—including vital signs measurement—and medication administration is essential. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required. Additional experience in hospice or geriatrics care, use of patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques, and knowledge of HIPAA regulations will strengthen your application. A background in social work or home & community care supports your ability to provide holistic support while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
