Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Production & Material Planner to coordinate and optimize our manufacturing shop operations. You will manage the entire lifecycle of our production orders—from initial materials forecasting and ordering to day-to-day shop scheduling, shop floor documentation, inventory tracking, and final shipping fulfillment. Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling: Create, update, and manage the daily and weekly production plans for the shop floor to maximize efficiency and capacity.
- Documentation & Work Orders: Generate, print, and cut necessary shop tags, travelers, and work orders to guide materials and labor through production.
- Material Procurement: Forecast demand and order raw materials and components from suppliers to prevent stockouts and production delays.
- Shop Flow & Deadline Management: Actively monitor shop floor progress, troubleshoot delays, and manage job flow to guarantee on-time delivery for client orders.
- Inventory Control: Track and drive completed work orders into inventory, ensuring system data matches physical stock levels.
- Shipping Fulfillment: Support the logistics lifecycle by performing item fulfillment processes when finished products are packed and shipped.
- Proactive Forecasting: Preplan for future capacity, labor, and raw material requirements based on historical data and upcoming sales projections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of supply chain management and operations management principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent enterprise resource planning software; experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing teams and fostering cross-functional communication.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
