Benitez Irrigation & Landscape is seeking a skilled, dependable Licensed Irrigation Technician (LIT) to diagnose, repair, and optimize residential and commercial irrigation systems.

Essential Functions
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain irrigation systems to company quality standards
- Ensure systems operate efficiently and in compliance with local regulations
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding system issues and solutions
- Accurately document work using company technology and mobile applications
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional job sites
- Uphold company values, safety standards, and service expectations
Duties and Tasks
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, valves, leaks, pressure problems, and coverage inefficiencies
- Repair and replace irrigation components including heads, valves, wiring, backflow components, and controllers
- Program and adjust irrigation controllers for seasonal and site-specific needs
- Perform system audits and recommend water-saving improvements
- Use company mobile app to manage appointments, notes, job photos, and service recommendations
- Educate clients on proper system use, seasonal adjustments, and maintenance best practices
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean working condition
- Attend ongoing training and stay current with irrigation best practices and water conservation standards
Competencies
- Strong irrigation diagnostics and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with major irrigation brands (Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro)
- Experience with valve locators, wire tracers, and diagnostic tools
- Knowledge of controllers, water management, and 2-wire systems
- Detail-oriented with pride in clean, professional workmanship
- Strong communication skills (Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus)
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a field-based environment
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional irrigation experience
- Active Texas Landscape Irrigation Technician (LIT) License
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service schedules
- Willingness to be held accountable to quality, efficiency, and service standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Ability to dig, kneel, squat, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, rain, and cold
- Ability to operate hand tools and small equipment
- Navigate uneven terrain and frequently enter/exit vehicles
Performance Metrics
- First-Time Fix Rate: Maintain a high percentage of service calls resolved without return visits due to workmanship issues
- Job Quality & Documentation Accuracy: Complete all work orders with accurate notes, photos, and recommendations
- Efficiency & Productivity: Complete assigned service calls within expected timeframes while maintaining quality standards
- Customer Satisfaction: Maintain positive client feedback and professional communication standards
- Safety Compliance: Zero preventable safety incidents and adherence to company safety protocols

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
