About Us:
Wild Space Gallery is founded by the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation and located in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Petersburg, Florida. As an extension of the Foundation’s mission, Wild Space Gallery advances awareness of conservation issues within the state of Florida. Exhibits rotate regularly and are presented in an open showcase setting. The gallery features the works of locally and nationally renowned artists whose varied stories display an appreciation of nature and its transformative power to connect, heal, and endure. By curating thought-provoking exhibitions, we create a space where art becomes the vessel for engaging, challenging, and inspiring collaborative ideas towards protecting Florida’s wild places.
About the Role:
The Gallery Intern will work closely with our Gallery Director and Curator on a variety of projects and in all aspects of gallery operations. The intern will be present in the gallery during opening hours: Wed-Sat, 2-6pm and at special events.
Position Type:
This is a part-time, in-person internship position working 16-20 hours per week at the St. Petersburg gallery. The internship will start immediately and end January 30, 2027.

College students and recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Candidate Requirements:
- Highly Organized
- Taken art history courses or worked in gallery or museum
- Take initiative and balance the ability to work independently and work in a team
- Effective Critical Thinking
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in art/exhibit curation/Art Education
- Access to computer for use during internship
- Experience in creating social media posts
- Availability to work 15-20 hours per week including Saturdays
- Bonus: previous experience as a gallery guide, volunteer, or receptionist
- Bonus: previous event planning experience
Responsibilities:
- Work reception desk and merchandise sales
- Learn about each exhibit, meet and research each artist, write and perform as gallery guide
- Set up, assist with guests, process sales, and clean up at gallery events
- Work on Social Media posts of gallery events and exhibitions
- Receive training and assist on the install and breakdown of exhibitions
- Assist with administrative tasks
Program Benefits:
This internship offers an immersive experience of the local art scene through interfacing with nationally renowned contemporary art and artists and behind-the-scenes access to art exhibitions and events. The gallery is located on The Factory campus, and the intern will experience a behind the scenes walkthrough of The Fairgrounds immersive art experience
