Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns to inform treatment plans.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection prevention protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.
- Monitor infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing infection prevention protocols diligently.

Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation review, and medical records management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Skilled in patient communication, client education, and maintaining a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical coding practices to ensure accurate documentation of procedures and patient interactions.
- Demonstrated commitment to healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management.
