Homeward Bound is Marin County’s primary provider of shelter and housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We offer emergency shelter, short- and long-term supportive housing, job training and placement, and wraparound services. Our mission is Opening Doors to Safety, Dignity, Hope, and Independence.
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join our adult housing team and support residents as they build stability and self-sufficiency. In this role, you’ll work with participants in our newly opened 24-unit veteran housing program, which provides affordable housing for adults transitioning out of homelessness. You will help residents maintain their housing, navigate challenges, and move toward greater independence.
What You'll Do
- Provide housing-focused case management to individuals and groups.
- Coordinate care with healthcare, behavioral health, housing, and community partners.
- Support housing stability through advocacy, referrals, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution.
- Address barriers to housing, income, employment, and health using Housing First and trauma-informed approaches.
- Maintain regular participant engagement to support progress toward housing goals.
- Assist with housing eligibility, leasing, move-ins, and housing retention.
- Coordinate voucher paperwork and required housing documentation.
- Support basic property management functions, including maintenance requests, rent tracking, tenancy issues, and site monitoring.
- Collaborate with program leadership to improve housing operations and participant outcomes.
- Provide cross-program support within the team’s housing book as needed
- Maintain client records and data in HMIS, Salesforce, and other required systems.
- Meet program, funder, and agency documentation standards and deadlines.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field, or three (3) years of experience in housing, residential, or human services.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other underserved populations preferred.
- Knowledge of Housing First, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, mental health, substance use, and community resources.
- Familiarity with public benefits systems (SSI, SSDI, SDI) and housing programs.
- Experience with HMIS, Salesforce, or similar databases, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and case management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Compensation
$34-36, depending on experience and qualifications.
