Responsibilities:
- Supervision of water distribution, operation and maintenance of Clark Canyon Dam and regulating stream flow through East Bench Irrigation lands (approximately 22,862 acres).
- Executive management of an office, which includes budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, managing 4-5 employees, etc.
- Applicants should have considerable knowledge of water resource management, water measurement techniques, Montana water law, personnel management and financial management of O&M budget and investments accounts.
- Must be able to acquire a Government Applicators License for chemical application, EBID will cover costs.
- Look and apply for grants to improve infrastructure and work closely with engineering firms.
- Attend monthly/annual meetings with a Board of Commissioners and present a manager’s report detailing reservoir activities, canal operations and employee activities.
The manager will be representing East Bench Irrigation District in local, state and regional forums and must be able to communicate effectively both orally and by correspondence. Applicants with extensive experience and/or education in water management, hydrology, civil or agricultural engineering are preferred. Applicants must be acceptable to the United States Bureau of Reclamation. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
