As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping residents recover from illness, injury, or surgery and regain their highest possible level of independence.
Working closely with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents every day.
Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
Measure and record resident strength, mobility, motor function, and overall progress
Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities
Assist residents in safely using mobility equipment and assistive devices
Provide therapeutic treatments including stretching, range-of-motion exercises, and other prescribed interventions
Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress to the Physical Therapist
Document treatment sessions and resident outcomes accurately and timely
Educate residents on exercises and techniques to improve mobility and independence
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal resident outcomes
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program
Current New York State PTA License
Skilled Nursing Facility or Rehabilitation experience preferred, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for resident care and rehabilitation
$30.00–$35.00 per Hour
