POSITION GOAL
Provide tier 1 technical support, preventative maintenance, and field troubleshooting for district safety and security technology to ensure continuous readiness for emergency response and daily operations
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1.*Provide tier 1 technical support for district safety and security technology including security cameras and video management software; door access control systems; fire and intrusion alarm systems; school visitor identification and emergency student reunification systems; intercom systems; network connected environmental sensors for vape detection with camera integration; student monitoring systems; law enforcement camera integration systems; walkthrough weapons detection systems; site protection drones; and technology hardware and systems for the Security Operations Center.
2.*Respond to service requests for malfunctioning alarms; diagnose issues, and restore system functionality using vendor tools, field diagnostics, and standard procedures.
3.*Perform preventative maintenance (device health checks, cleaning, firmware/application updates as directed, and verification).
4.*Repair and configure field components (cameras, mounts, sensors, door readers, intercom endpoints, panic/alert devices) following district standards.
5.*Assist with basic system programming tasks (user/device provisioning, door schedules, camera views, alert receiver health checks) when authorized.
6.*Coordinate with vendors and contractors for tier 2/3 support; provide on-site escort and technical assistance during repairs and installations.
7.*Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, configurations, and asset/inventory changes.
8.*Support the Security Operations Center (SOC) systems and workstation/monitor hardware.
9.*Maintain a safe and orderly work environment; follow district safety protocols and information security requirements.
10.*Keep current with hardware and software technology through education courses and self-study.
11.*Accept shift assignments (within a 40-hour week), including nights and weekends, as assigned.
12.*May require working during non-business hours or non-school days and being on call to resolve safety and security technology issues on an emergency basis.
13.Attend and complete vendor and district training to maintain knowledge of current safety and security technologies.
14.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager of Safety & Security Technical Support, Director of Infrastructure, or CTO.
