Major Duties
What to Expect:
Plans, manages, and administers a comprehensive year-round health and fitness program, and the facilities used in conducting the activities comprised the program at MC Installation.
Serves as the installation Liaison with agencies internal and external to the Marine Corps.
Oversees the health, fitness, aquatics, sports and Outdoor Adventure programs.
Continually evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing activities, resources, and program objectives, and adapts and alters program activities based on findings.
Prepares and submits the annual budget for review/approval.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Practices sound position management by periodically reviewing organizational structure and functional assignments.
Determines adequacy of facilities and recommends facility construction/alterations and renovation projects, and monitors repair and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment.
Plans, coordinates, conducts, and oversees all aspects of recurring and non-recurring activities, special events and joint military and civilian community undertakings to make maximum use of facilities, services and other resources.
This is a white-collar position where standing for long periods of time and occasional lifting up to 45lbs. may be required. Must be able to lift and carry objects over 45lbs with assistance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of position.
AND
Four years of knowledge and experience in any combination or all of the following functional areas: fitness, sports, recreation, health education, public health, and/or human performance.
OR
An appropriate combination of education and substantial experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above.
OR
Substantial experience that demonstrates the acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.
Knowledge of health and wellness principles and concepts.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct a diversified organization.
Knowledge of organization structure, position management, organization efficiency concepts and effective productivity methods.
Skill and knowledge in financial management.
Ability to manage/supervise employees and apply sound principles of human resource management.
A thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles, and ability to analyze trends and make improvements.
Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with superiors, subordinates, vendors, peers, and the public.
Knowledge of NAF policies and procedure preferred.
Must have effective writing and oral presentation skills and ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
This position may be designated as a non-critical sensitive position; therefore, must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (T3), Secret Clearance level background check.
