CACS, Inc. is currently seeking a Building Aide to support the Head Start and Early Childhood Programs at our Pine Street Location.
Building related responsibilities will primarily be performed at the Pine Street site from September through May. During the summer months of June through August, this position will assist with agency wide general maintenance and facility support duties.
This is a full time position working 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The starting rate for this position is $15 per hour.
The Building Aide is responsible for performing a variety of custodial, cleaning, food service support, and general maintenance duties within agency buildings and on surrounding grounds. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and visitors.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one year of related experience in custodial, maintenance, food service, or general building support duties preferred.
Assists with meal service operations by working with the food vendor to order meals and maintain classroom supply inventory.
Receives prepared meals from the vendor and portions meals appropriately for classroom distribution.
Ensures compliance with CACFP guidelines and procedures.
Provides classroom and bus assistance as needed.
Answers the front entrance, greets clients and visitors professionally, and directs individuals appropriately.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes daily.
Shovels snow and applies salt to paved walkways and entrances as needed to maintain safe conditions.
Performs miscellaneous cleaning and support duties including cleaning blinds and fans, stocking and reordering sanitary supplies, and maintaining general building cleanliness.
Completes general maintenance duties during summer months, including moving furniture and equipment, using power tools, cleaning carpets, painting facilities, delivering office and sanitary supplies, and conducting routine building checks.
Cleans, sweeps, and mops hard surface floors and vacuums carpeted areas daily.
Cleans and dusts windows, window sills, doors, baseboards, registers, furniture, and related surfaces on a scheduled basis.
Maintains restroom cleanliness by disinfecting sinks, mirrors, toilets, floors, and walls daily and ensuring supplies remain stocked.
Collects and disposes of garbage from both the building and surrounding grounds and replaces trash liners daily.
Sets up and takes down tables, chairs, and other equipment for meetings and activities as needed.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support agency operations.
