Horizon Prosthetics is a leading provider of custom orthotic and prosthetic care throughout Colorado. Every day, our team helps patients regain mobility, independence, and confidence. We are seeking a highly organized Office Administrator with DMEPOS experience to support our clinicians by managing referrals, insurance authorizations, documentation, and patient care coordination.
You'll serve as the administrative backbone of our clinic, ensuring patients receive medically necessary care by coordinating with physicians, insurance companies, referral sources, and our clinical team.
What You'll Do
- Process new patient referrals and physician orders.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for DMEPOS services.
- Review medical documentation to ensure payer and DMEPOS requirements are met.
- Request prescriptions, chart notes, and supporting documentation from physicians.
- Coordinate with clinicians to prepare patient orders for fabrication and delivery.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Communicate with patients regarding insurance status, documentation needs, and next steps.
- Collaborate with billing and clinical staff to resolve insurance or documentation issues.
- Track work queues and prioritize patient orders to meet clinic goals.
- Ensure compliance with DMEPOS regulations and maintain HIPAA standards.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with DMEPOS (Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies) strongly preferred.
- Experience in insurance verification, prior authorizations, or referral coordination.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
- Positive attitude and commitment to outstanding patient care.
