Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure readiness for cooking and plating
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling salads, sandwiches, or side dishes according to recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support cooking processes by assisting with basic food handling and cooking under supervision
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers following safety protocols
- Help with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing bulk ingredients or assembling plated dishes
Skills
- Experience working in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within restaurant or food industry settings
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal assembly techniques
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with kitchen equipment operation and food service procedures
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
