Facilities Maintenance Site Superintendent, Construction

The Facilities Maintenance Site Superintendent oversees maintenance, installation, and consulting support for building and infrastructure projects. This role covers new construction, building expansion, renovation, sustainability upgrades, systems modernization, and regulatory compliance work at an active industrial or production facility in Farmington, CT.
Schedule
Full time. On call availability is required to respond to urgent maintenance needs and minimize downtime outside standard hours.
Compensation
$75,000 to $95,000 per year, based on experience.
The Superintendent checks in daily on construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, providing input on budgets, cost estimates, and project financials. Working closely with the Department Manager, this person maintains project schedules while ensuring compliance with building codes, safety standards, and other regulatory guidelines. The role coordinates with employees, management, contractors, and facility representatives to keep operations running smoothly during active projects, and delivers accurate reporting, forecasting, and progress updates to leadership.
The Superintendent also supports project teams day to day, encouraging collaboration and accountability, and is responsible for daily maintenance tasks tracked through MaintainX. Hands on maintenance work is expected as needed to keep projects and operations on schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing complex construction or maintenance projects in an active production environment
- Working knowledge of building codes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems such as MaintainX
- Availability for on call support to respond to urgent facility needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Experience with budget development, cost estimating, and project financial reporting
- OSHA safety certification or equivalent credential
