Starting pay $18.00/hr, shift differential for 2nd additional .75/hr and 3rd shift additional 1.00/hr
$50.00 per week attendance bonus/ No missed time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for ensuring that all safety functions on press are working.
- Maintain operation of assigned presses at maximum efficiency/standard strokes per minute to meet production standards.
- Assist in preparing and putting rolls of metal on the press.
- Monitor and maintain i.e. and press lubrication, check mist system at beginning and end of shift.
- Perform system adjustments.
- Complete troubleshooting as required including out blow adjustments or replacements, pressure adjustments, cardboard changes, scrap systems, taping, etc.
- Ensure timely starts at the beginning of the shift and after each break period.
- Respond to trouble calls by Press Packer as soon as possible.
- When necessary, assist Production Assistant to keep packers area free of boxes.
- Complete all metal usage and production paperwork as required. Maintain paperwork and production tickets neatly, accurately, and completely indicating running time and reasons for any downtime.
HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS Maintain clean die area and clean area around the press. Responsible for cleaning the press.
- Eliminate any tripping hazards of metal or cardboard on the floor or banding from the bundles of cardboard and cardboard.
- Discard to dumpster and empty cores from metal roll.
SAFETY Must use die block when cage doors are open and clearing jams Must wear mechanic gloves when handling metal/pans
- Must wear safety glasses when in production area
- Must wear hearing protection when in production area
- Must wear hair net
- Must wear beard net if applicable
QUALIFICATIONS Basic Mechanical skills Problem Solving skills relative to press operation
- Familiarity with basic hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, etc...
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
