Overview
We are looking for temporary lathe help. 4 to 6 weeks. Candidate must know how to program and run a Mazak Nexus quick turn 200ms and 250
Duties
- Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes, including machine calibration, tooling changes, and program loading using CNC G-code programming.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
- Perform manual machining tasks when necessary, including using hand tools and grinders for finishing operations.
- Conduct CNC quality inspections by measuring parts against specifications and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Assist with machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues related to M-code and CNC programming errors, and ensuring optimal machine performance.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling machining tools, power tools, and assembly processes to maintain a safe work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes, specifically Mazak or similar brands, with knowledge of CNC G-code programming and M-code functions.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation for accurate machining.
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar for understanding design specifications.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Experience with CNC milling machines, manual machining techniques, and the use of measurement instruments like micrometers and bore gauges is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints ensures precise setup and operation of equipment.
