ABOUT THE TEAM AND THE CITY
The City of Lynwood's Public Works Department and Water Division are responsible for maintaining vital community resources and infrastructure. By joining our team, you will serve as a liaison between the City, the community, and regulatory agencies, overseeing a collaborative team dedicated to operational excellence. You will also take on administrative and field-level responsibilities to support the team, including supervising, training, and evaluating division crews.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As the Water Operations Supervisor, you will perform highly responsible supervisory and administrative tasks, including:
Overseeing the daily operations of wells, reservoirs, treatment systems, booster stations, and distribution infrastructure.
Utilizing SCADA data and reviewing operational trends to evaluate system efficiency and maintain water quality and reliability.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and county health and safety regulations, including oversight of sampling programs and coordination with the State Water Resources Control Board.
Recommending the implementation of policies, assisting in the development of program budgets, and participating in emergency standby duties.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Possessing a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is desired, but not required.
Experience: Six years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation, construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair of domestic water distribution and wastewater systems, including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Working knowledge of SCADA systems is required.
Certifications: * Possession of a valid Water Treatment Operator Grade T2 certificate.
License: Possession of a valid California Class B driver's license with airbrake and tank endorsements.
