Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS ensuring timely delivery
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, spirits, wines, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Process cash and card transactions accurately, including handling cash register operations with POS systems like Aloha or Micros
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations; bus tables and assist in food preparation as needed
- Use OpenTable/Toast or similar reservation systems to manage guest seating efficiently and optimize table turnover
- Demonstrate extensive beverage knowledge, including spirits, wine pairings, cocktail recipes, and food industry trends
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions about menu items, dietary restrictions, and special requests
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially fine dining or hospitality settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Proven ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining excellent customer service skills
- Culinary experience or food industry background is highly desirable
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and food safety standards
- Experience with food handling, sanitation practices, bussing tables, and guest services roles such as host/hostess or cashiering
