- Job Type: Part-Time
- Schedule: 25-30 hours per week
- Pay: $18.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the organization's financial records and ensuring the accuracy of accounting transactions. This individual will oversee daily bookkeeping functions, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and assist leadership with financial operations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing
- Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Maintain the general ledger and financial records
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Monitor outstanding receivables and collections
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
- Support payroll reconciliation and related accounting functions
- Maintain accounting files and compliance documentation
- Coordinate with executive leadership regarding financial performance
- Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and audit-ready
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience using accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience working in healthcare, nonprofit, or human services organizations
- Experience assisting with budgeting and payroll support
