Position Summary
The Technician supports experienced service technicians while receiving structured, hands-on training in the skilled trades.
This is an entry-level career-development position for candidates who may have limited technical experience but demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, dependability, personal responsibility, and a serious desire to learn.
Apprentices will assist with residential and commercial service, installation, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, material handling, jobsite preparation, documentation, and customer communication.
Because apprentices represent the company inside customers’ homes and businesses, professional behavior and clear communication are essential requirements of the position.
Essential ResponsibilitiesTechnical and Field Responsibilities
- Assist experienced Technicians with service calls, repairs, installations, maintenance, and inspections.
- Learn how to identify tools, materials, equipment, components, and common trade terminology.
- Prepare work areas, organize tools, retrieve materials, and maintain clean and safe jobsites.
- Follow technician instructions carefully and ask appropriate questions when clarification is needed.
- Learn proper diagnostic procedures and the correct sequence for completing repairs.
- Assist with loading, unloading, inventory control, and vehicle organization.
- Use hand and power tools safely and responsibly.
- Follow all company, manufacturer, code, and safety requirements.
- Complete assigned training, evaluations, and skill-development requirements.
- Protect customers’ property by using floor protection, cleaning work areas, and handling equipment carefully.
- Document work accurately through company software, forms, photographs, and checklists.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, uniforms, and equipment in professional condition.
Communication and Customer-Service Responsibilities
- Greet customers professionally and respectfully.
- Introduce yourself clearly and explain your role as an apprentice.
- Listen carefully when customers or technicians are speaking.

- Ability to take responsibility for mistakes and make corrections.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools.

- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Reliable transportation to the assigned reporting location.
- Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screening requirements.
- Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or field-service application.
- Ability to work scheduled evenings, weekends, or overtime when required.
Advancement Opportunity
This position is intended to develop apprentices into qualified Plumbing or HVAC Technicians.
Advancement will be based on demonstrated skills, communication, attendance, professionalism, training completion, safety performance, technical knowledge, and the ability to serve customers responsibly.
Employment and advancement are not based solely on time in the position. Apprentices must demonstrate that they are ready for increased responsibility.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
