What to Expect
As a Plumber, Construction on Tesla's self-perform mechanical construction team at Gigafactory Nevada, you will install, modify, troubleshoot, and support industrial plumbing, process piping, and related systems on high-velocity construction and upgrade projects. This is not a facilities maintenance role. You will execute self-perform construction scopes, support turnovers, and deliver quality work on aggressive schedules while maintaining high standards of safety and craftsmanship. Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs and working safely in active construction environments. Flexibility for overnight, weekend, or extended shifts is sometimes required for critical scopes and production windows.
What You'll Do-
Install, modify, and repair PVC, CPVC, copper, stainless, and other process and utility piping systems using ProPress and modern joining methods

Install, set, and support transfer, sump, single-stage, and multistage centrifugal pumps and associated controls as part of construction scopes

Use plumbing, mechanical, and process piping schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and construction drawings to plan work scopes, layout systems, and troubleshoot issues

Produce accurate parts lists and work plans from drawings or field walks and execute work safely, cleanly, and to high craft standards

Perform work outside of core plumbing competency when required to keep the self-perform crew and project moving

Accurately record work progress and completion in project tracking systems or CMMS as required

Operate as a core member of the self-perform construction team and support teammates across shifts, trades, and scopes as needed
What You'll Bring-
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial plumbing and process piping in construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments

Solid knowledge of industrial and process gases and liquids, hot and cold water services, plumbing systems, and industrial chemical systems

Ability to produce accurate parts lists and detailed work plans from drawings, P&IDs, or field walks

Ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning (JSA/JHA) before every job

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with project tracking or CMMS tools

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with other trades, contractors, leads, and supervision

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overnight shifts, weekends, or extended days to support critical construction scopes
