We're growing and looking for a Chef & Kitchen Manager. The Blue Eyed Daisy is a busy café located near Palmetto, about 30 minutes SW of Atlanta. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude with experience coaching kitchen staff, managing inventory and contributing to the menu.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have creative license on seasonal, farm-to-table style dishes in a fast-paced, casual dining concept, plus opportunities to host chef dinners. We're also open to hiring a Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career.
The Daisy is primarily a breakfast and lunch café, so morning availability is required. We currently serve dinner one evening per week, but will be expanding to more nights soon. Beneficial schedule for the right candidate, having most nights off.
5+ years of kitchen experience with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role, including managing inventory and labor costs. Must have strong references.
Responsibilities include:
- Create new menu items and weekly specials using fresh seasonal ingredients
- Manage and coach cooks to ensure the kitchen is in good order, product is handled with care, and we deliver a consistent experience for our guests
- Oversee all food preparation while employing safety measures
- Evaluate performance, give guidance and discipline as necessary to produce consistent quality dishes
- Visually inspect and utilize the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, fowl and other food products in the preparation of all menu items
