WRA is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects from concept through construction administration. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal design teams, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to WRA's exacting quality standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical architectural knowledge with proven project management, leadership, and client relationship skills.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary project lead for architectural projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality from proposal through closeout

Coordinate and direct multi-disciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, and outside consultants

Develop and manage project work plans, staffing assignments, and fee budgets; monitor progress and proactively address deviations

Act as the main client liaison, building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships through responsive communication and sound professional judgment

Lead client meetings, design presentations, and progress reviews

Oversee the preparation of design documents, specifications, and construction documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements

Manage contracts, subconsultant agreements, invoicing, and project financials in coordination with firm leadership

Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, interviews, and cultivation of new and existing client relationships

Provide construction administration support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site observations as needed

Mentor and guide junior architectural staff, fostering professional growth and quality control across project teams

Ensure compliance with WRA's quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures throughout all project phases
Required:
-
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited program

Minimum 16 years of progressive architectural experience, including demonstrated project management responsibility

Registered Architect (licensure in Maryland, or ability to obtain reciprocity, required)

Demonstrated experience managing institutional, commercial, public-sector, higher education, transportation, or government projects.

Strong working knowledge of building codes, ADA/accessibility requirements, and construction documentation standards.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget targets.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Project; BIM management, Revit, and AutoCAD experience a plus.

US Citizenship required.
Preferred:
-
Experience with public-sector, institutional, educational, and/or government clients.

LEED accreditation or demonstrated sustainable design experience.

Prior experience in an A/E or multi-disciplinary consulting firm environment.

PMP certification or equivalent project management training

The expected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 - $180,000.00, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
