American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience and the ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.

Work in the OR Float Pool of a large Level 1 trauma academic medical center with 1,000+ beds
-
56-bed OR serving both inpatient and outpatient cases, plus 5 procedural rooms
-
Complex cardiac patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplant, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE), cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases

Adult patient population only; pediatric OR is a separate facility

12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday; specific days worked will vary based on unit need and block scheduling is not available

Call is required for all travelers in cardiac surgery — three layers of call coverage, 24/7, with requirements rotating every 6 weeks

Assignment is 13 weeks in length

Floating within the OR may be required, but not between locations

Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact license required

Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required

Must be able to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries

Prior travel nursing experience required

Current BLS certification required

Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical cases

Call responsibilities are in addition to three 12-hour scheduled shifts per week

This position is not open to first-time travelers — prior travel experience is required
