Job Summary
Our warehouse is undergoing a reconfiguration and we're looking for Rack Installers to join on a contracted basis to support the project. Installers will work directly under a Project Manager, who will direct daily tasks including breaking down existing racking and building new racking systems. This is physical, hands-on work suited to someone who is strong, comfortable lifting heavy loads repeatedly, and able to work efficiently in a hot warehouse environment. Schedule is flexible and can be coordinated around the installer's availability. We expect the project to be completed 2-4 weeks.
- Break down existing warehouse racking systems as directed by the Project Manager.
- Assemble and install new racking systems according to the project layout and Project Manager instructions.
- Lift, carry, and position heavy racking components (beams, uprights, decking, and hardware) safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures related to racking installation, tool use, and working in an active warehouse.
- Work efficiently in a hot warehouse environment.
- Operate a forklift to move materials, if certified/experienced (not required).
- Coordinate directly with the Project Manager on daily task assignments and scheduling.
- Keep the work area organized and clear of hazards throughout breakdown and build phases.
- Physically strong, with the ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy materials.
- Able to work in a hot, physically demanding warehouse environment.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools for assembly and disassembly work.
- Able to take direction from a Project Manager and work efficiently as part of a team.
- Reliable and available on a flexible, as-needed contract schedule.
- Forklift operating experience or certification (nice to have, not required).
- Prior experience with racking, shelving, or similar warehouse installation work.
- General construction, assembly, or physical labor background.
- Regularly lift and carry heavy racking components and hardware (50+ lbs), often with a partner or team.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the full shift.
- Work at height as needed during racking assembly (ladder or lift use may be required).
- Tolerate warehouse conditions including heat and limited climate control.
- This is a contracted, project-based engagement tied to the warehouse reconfiguration timeline.
- Hours and days are flexible and will be coordinated directly with the Project Manager based on project needs and installer availability
- This role is project based and expected to end once the project is complete
- Pay: $25 an hour
