Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mazak machine programmer and operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Mazak CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including milling and lathe equipment, to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and machining processes will ensure high-quality production that meets strict specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Program Mazak CNC machines using CAM software and G-code to produce complex parts with precision and efficiency.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to blueprints and schematics.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering drawings to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Operate Mazak CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, including 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring optimal performance during production runs.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality.
- Perform routine maintenance, tool changes, and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD drawings created in SolidWorks or AutoCAD for accurate part fabrication.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve machining efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality control processes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, program revisions, inspection reports, and production logs.
Experience
- Proven experience programming and operating Mazak CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for interpreting drawings and designing parts.
- Experience with CAM software for CNC programming in machining applications.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and mechanical blueprint analysis.
- Knowledge of metal machining techniques including electrical discharge machining (EDM) and 5-axis machining processes.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and schematics for quality assurance.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills related to machining tool setup and troubleshooting.
