Job Summary:
The fleet mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostic testing and repairs on a growing variety of vehicles and vehicle systems. Vehicles will include utility trucks with cranes, straight trucks, bobtails, tractors, trailers, dump trucks and construction equipment. Vehicle systems will include a/c, brakes, electrical, power train, suspension, tires, computer systems, metering systems, piping and tanks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the consistency and quality of each task performed
- Perform vehicle inspections, diagnosis and repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment
- Perform all aspects of vehicle repairs by using various types of diagnostics and testing equipment
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the area where work is performed
- Clearly communicate details of the vehicle service to the Fleet Manager
- Neatly and completely fill out service paperwork
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience preferred
- Able to use hand tools, air tools and power tools
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Able to work well under pressure and tight dead lines
- Work in accordance with established safety procedures
