What you will do...
In the role of Powder Coating Tech, you will operate the conveyorized powder line, batch powder coating line, and all finishing operations.
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Fairway Aluminum Solutions (Fairway) team and will work with an unwavering commitment to the Company’s core values; honesty and integrity, compliance, safety, quality, execution, and profitability.
Your typical day looks like...
Essential Functions:
- Participate in the company’s Zero-Incident Safety Culture
- Comply with all environmental and safety regulations
- Complete powder coating work in accordance with the production schedule.
- Run and operate the batch powder coating line as required by the Production Supervisor
- Adhere to all powder coating processes, procedures, and work instructions, especially those related to D365 implementation.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and tidiness standards within the powder coating department, including adherence to implemented 5S solutions.
- Work with Shop Maintenance Technicians to ensure completion of planned and unplanned maintenance of powder coating equipment.
- Follow documented procedures and work instructions to perform tasks
- Follow departmental and company safety rules and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you will bring to the role...
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Previous experience in powder coating is preferred.
- Basic Microsoft office and computer skills needed.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to operate and manipulate tools and materials
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for majority of the working shift
- Ability to frequently walk, reach, pull, push, stoop, and bend
- The work environment is manufacturing based. Noise levels may be moderate to high. Employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- Employee may be exposed to fumes and particles. Personal protective equipment is provided. PPE provided includes: protective suit, headwear with respirator, and eye protection.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Monday-Friday with required overtime as needed.
