AutoCAD Technician / Estimating Assistant
Schefers Roofing Company & Sheet Metal is a leader in commercial and industrial roofing throughout the Midwest. We’re seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team and support estimating and project management operations.
Position Summary
This position combines AutoCAD drafting, estimating support, project documentation, and administrative responsibilities. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a long-term career in commercial construction, with opportunities to advance into estimating, project management, or operations.
Responsibilities

Prepare and revise shop drawings, roof plans, and construction details using AutoCAD.

Assist with material takeoffs, estimates, bid preparation, and proposal documents.

Prepare and track project submittals, closeout documents, and project records.

Maintain organized project files and support project managers with administrative tasks.

Coordinate with customers, vendors, office staff, and field personnel.

Perform occasional site visits to verify measurements and document project conditions.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Valid driver’s license.

Construction, roofing, or sheet metal experience is preferred but not required.
