Job Title: Night Shift - Direct Support Assistant
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM | 40 hours per week
This position supports the Sisters during overnight hours by maintaining a clean, safe, and peaceful environment. While the Sisters are asleep for the majority of the shift, this role focuses on completing unit-wide cleaning and laundry tasks, as well as providing limited care or assistance if needed.
Perform cleaning duties throughout the unit, ensuring all common areas and workspaces are sanitized and maintained.
Complete all unit laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing as needed.
Monitor the environment to ensure safety and promptly respond to any unexpected Sister needs during overnight hours.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply areas and restock as needed.
Document any observations, concerns, or overnight incidents according to established procedures.
Assist with light tasks such as preparing items for the next day’s activities, if applicable.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Previous health care, housekeeping, or elder-care experience preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
A compassionate attitude and desire to serve the elderly.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to complete housekeeping and laundry tasks.
Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
Quiet, low-activity environment typical of overnight shifts, with moderate noise from equipment (e.g., laundry machines, cleaning tools).
Work is performed indoors within a residential care setting.
