American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for an IMC/Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of Tele and IMC experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel experience.

Position is based in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Float Pool within a hospital setting
-
Float Pool role involves movement between Med/Surg Telemetry and IMC units
-
Patient population includes those with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe CHF, MI, unstable angina, and trauma
-
Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
-
EMR: Epic experience is required
-
Schedule: Days, 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)

Some holiday and weekend coverage is expected

Active MD or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required

Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience in a hospital setting required
-
Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a hospital setting required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required

Recent Epic experience required
-
Proficiency with arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management

A copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Travelers are floated in rotation with facility staff in accordance with facility floating policies and clinical experience
-
Flu shot and 2-step PPD are required with no exceptions
-
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
-
Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
-
Travelers who have completed an assignment of 1 year or more must separate for a minimum of 90 days before returning as a traveler

Any requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to the start of the assignment
