Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Garden Center Sales Associate in our Tree and Shrub Department. This position is responsible for maintaining and caring for our Tree and Shrub department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for plants and outdoor work.
Duties
- Customer service and sales
- Load trees and shrubs into customers cars, (must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly)
- Maintain and care for plants in our Tree and Shrub department
- Assist with displaying, restocking, planting, pruning, watering, and fertilizing plants
- Operate power tools and hand tools
- Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants
- Assist with landscape maintenance projects such as pulling weeds and preventative spraying.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the overall cleanliness and appearance of the tree and shrub area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a garden center or landscaping plants is preferred but not required
- General knowledge of plant identification and plant care practices
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in gardening
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Willingness to learn
