We are seeking an energetic, senior-level executive for the Regional Operations Manager position. You will be working with the Director of Operations in the strategic and operational oversight of all warehouse and logistics activities. Leading General Managers across ANCO multiple facilities (Aurora, IL; Hammond, IN; Elkhart, IN; Louisville, IL; and Paris, TX). This role requires leadership skills, a strong understanding of steel handling and experience in steel warehousing, logistics, safety, inventory and personnel management. The role often involves assisting in developing policies, managing resources, and minimizing waste to maintain quality and productivity.
This pivotal role involves managing distribution processes and handling, optimizing warehouse efficiency, personnel management, and leading multiple warehouse teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, manage logistics, provide supportive leadership, and uphold safety standards while supporting our commitment to quality service and operational excellence.
- Job Location: Hammond, IN
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, occasional weekends, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (may vary depending on daily workload).

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight by leading and managing warehouse General Managers to ensure efficiency and productivity of all warehouse functions.
- Enforce company-wide standards and procedures for all warehouse operations.
- Work with General Managers on the management of the warehouse processes of receiving, handling, storing, picking, packaging, and shipping of steel products.
- Logistics Management - Oversee General Manager’s in managing and monitoring the scheduling of logistic personnel for the transporting of steel products.
- Safety Leadership: Cultivate a culture of safety across all locations by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless order processing and customer satisfaction.
- Implement process improvements utilizing lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity.
- Manage warehouse management systems for accurate inventory tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and Common Carrier partners for freight forwarding and shipping needs.
- Oversee procurement activities including purchasing, materials management, and vendor relations to support warehouse operations
- Work with logistics shipping & receiving processes, dispatching, order fulfillment, and fleet management for timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, oversee forklift, overhead crane, and fabrication operation training, and enforce safety protocols across all facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, preferred.
- Must be 21 years or older for this position
- At least 8-10 years of experience in warehouse operations and logistics management, within the steel industry, safety, inventory and personnel management with a proven track record of managing multiple sites.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics planning, inventory control, and distribution operations.
- 8-10 years’ managing personnel experience in a warehouse and logistics role.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent managerial communication skills with a track record of team leadership and supervising diverse staff
- Knowledge of transportation management systems , freight logistics including 3PLs and common carrier procurement processes, and fleet management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in logistics, order fulfillment, materials management, fabrication, and safety compliance.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with database software, steel industry software, MS Office, and internet skills.
- Expertise in warehouse safety, including OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Experience in resource allocation, and problem-solving within a warehouse setting.
- Working knowledge of HR processes and procedures.
