Position Summary
Crist Roofing & Construction is hiring a dependable, safety-minded Field & Logistics Technician to keep roofing and construction projects moving. This hands-on role handles material pickups and deliveries, dumpster and dump-trailer moves, job-site cleanup, equipment checks, and day-to-day field support. The right candidate communicates well, takes care of company equipment, and can work independently while following changing daily assignments.
What You'll Do
- Pick up, load, secure, transport, and deliver roofing and construction materials between suppliers, the company yard, and job sites.
- Verify orders when possible and quickly report missing, damaged, or incorrect materials.
- Deliver, place, exchange, retrieve, and transport company dumpsters and dump trailers.
- Haul construction debris to approved disposal facilities and submit dump tickets and receipts.
- Load and unload materials, stage jobs, remove debris, sweep, perform magnetic nail cleanup, and assist with yard or warehouse work.
- Pick up unused materials and returns from completed jobs and deliver them to the proper location.
- Take clear pickup, delivery, dumpster, and job-site photos and send confirmations and documentation promptly.
- Keep trucks, trailers, dumpsters, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Assist crews and supervisors with reasonable field and construction-related tasks within your training and ability.
Driving & Equipment Responsibilities
- Complete reasonable daily/pre-use inspections of assigned trucks, trailers, hitches, safety chains, breakaway systems, tires, lights, load securement, and visible safety concerns.
- Safely hitch, tow, position, and operate trailers and related equipment as assigned.
- Obey traffic laws, wear a seat belt, use hands-free phone operation, and properly secure every load.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, warning lights, mechanical problems, accidents, citations, or property damage.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated and a commitment to safe driving.
- Experience safely towing, backing, and placing utility trailers or dump trailers is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform active outdoor work, including loading, unloading, cleanup, and general labor.
- Comfort using a smartphone to take photos, communicate with the office, and submit receipts or delivery confirmations.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, good judgment, and the ability to follow instructions and changing routes or priorities.
- Professional conduct around homeowners, suppliers, coworkers, subcontractors, and the public.
- Roofing, construction, warehouse, delivery, landscaping, or equipment experience is helpful but not required for a dependable candidate willing to learn.
Work Environment
This position involves driving, outdoor job-site work, construction debris, changing weather, and physically active tasks. Daily start/end times, routes, and assignments may change based on project and operational needs. Required personal protective equipment and company safety rules must be followed.
