Facilities & Services – Energy Systems
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our facilities team. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing a wide range of commercial HVAC and temperature‑control systems. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
This position is located in Brookings, SD and is 12 months, 100% time.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
To operate, maintain and repair all heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning from small fractional horsepower compressors up to 400-ton chillers.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- HVAC and control systems for both small and large commercial sized equipment
- Computers and computer systems for managing work orders
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) and computer software applications and systems
Skill & Ability to:
- Keep all temperature control systems, heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems adjusted, calibrated and reliably operational
- Diagnose problems, repair and maintain specialized HVAC equipment and systems
- Install new systems and controls
- Maintain records and order inventory and supplies
- Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
- Work independently and part of a team
Required License:
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Refrigeration certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment is required
Comments: Commercial HVAC experience is preferred. We provide all the tools you need to do your job, including a vehicle and mobile devices. The regular hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM with some irregular shifts or weekend and evening hours. Position is subject to On Call Duty for emergency problems.
