Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Delivery Helper specializing in White Glove Home Delivery with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring safe, efficient deliveries. You will assist in the loading, unloading, and handling of goods from a 26-foot box truck, ensuring items are delivered with care and professionalism. Duties
- Assist delivery drivers in loading and unloading large, heavy items using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Safely load, transport, and unload goods while adhering to weight handling in the workplace and safe lifting practices.
- Support the driver during route driving, ensuring timely deliveries while following all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Help carry items into customers’ homes or designated delivery locations, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
- Operate mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication with dispatch teams.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations for inventory management and proper load securing.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service by being courteous, professional, and attentive to customer needs during each delivery.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience or experience in commercial driving environments preferred.
- Familiarity with box trucks, manual transmission vehicles, and commercial truck driving is highly desirable.
- Experience in personal vehicle delivery or courier services demonstrates strong route driving skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently using proper manual handling practices.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks and moving equipment.
- Excellent driving skills with adherence to traffic laws and DOT regulations for safe transportation.
- Strong customer service skills combined with clear communication via mobile devices or other technology tools.
- Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving manual handling, moving heavy items, and load & unload tasks.
