The Environmental CAD Designer will gain an introduction to environmental engineering and consulting with design assignments from water treatment facility to wastewater treatment facility, and everything in between. Responsible for utilizing Autodesk Plant 3D and other supporting software to develop thoughtful, creative and clear designs and plan sets for our owners, clients and contractors. Demonstrates an eagerness for continued improvement in plan set aesthetics and design along with a strong desire to learn and understand engineering concepts to effectively apply them to enhance overall plan set quality. With experience the Environmental CAD Designer will independently perform project assignments with instructions from the Project Team and apply what they have learned to assist in finding solutions to unique problems with every new project.
- Work collaboratively with Principals, Managers, Engineers, and Designers to develop clear, cohesive plan sets that effectively communicate project design intent to owners, clients, and contractors.
- Plan set development may include, but is not limited to, project setup, schematic design, hydraulic analysis, site development, and process design.
- Apply company CAD standards and industry best practices throughout plan set development to ensure consistency, accuracy, and high-quality deliverables.
- Apply and coordinate notes, legends and standard details as applicable.
- Participate in project meetings, huddles and QA/QC protocols.
- Perform routine aspects of design assignments and with frequent check-ins with senior team members for input and feedback.
- After gaining sufficient experience and a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, apply this knowledge to support project design efforts and enhance the overall quality of plan sets.
- Assist the design team in the ongoing development and implementation of new standards and technologies to improve plan set quality and overall efficiency.
Salary Range:$70,000 - $89,000
