We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. Interested candidates can apply in person at KOASTfrom 10am-5pm daily or via email.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient food service environment. Your proactive approach will support the overall flow of food preparation and service, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. This position offers an energetic work environment where teamwork, cleanliness, and food safety are top priorities.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning techniques.
- Help polish silverware and plates when time allows.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain clean and organized.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots or crates of supplies with proper technique.
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning dishwashing stations and storage areas in compliance with health regulations.
Skills
- Experience in food handling, dishwashing, or kitchen sanitation within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation procedures to uphold hygiene standards.
- Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong manual handling skills, including heavy lifting and physical stamina for extended periods of standing or moving loads.
- Familiarity with food preparation processes and basic knife skills for assisting in food prep tasks when required.
- Understanding of kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
