Position Overview:
Harcon Concrete is seeking an experienced General Superintendent – Concrete & Forming Operations to oversee and manage concrete construction activities for commercial and residential projects. This position is responsible for providing field leadership, managing multiple crews, coordinating with General Contractors, builders, project managers, and field teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing concrete operations including structural concrete, foundations, slabs, forming systems, reinforcing steel coordination, concrete placement, and field production. This role requires a strong construction leader capable of managing foremen, labor crews, subcontractors, schedules, and daily project execution.

Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for concrete and forming operations across multiple commercial and residential projects.
- Manage daily field activities including excavation coordination, forming, reinforcing, concrete placement, finishing, and site coordination.
- Oversee multiple concrete crews, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and productive project execution.
- Establish production goals, monitor progress, and implement strategies to maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate manpower planning, equipment requirements, material deliveries, and site logistics.
- Review project schedules and coordinate work activities with General Contractors, builders, and project management teams.
- Lead project coordination meetings and communicate progress, challenges, and upcoming activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and quality standards.
- Identify field conflicts, schedule impacts, and potential issues while developing effective solutions.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to field supervisors and craft personnel.
- Oversee concrete operations including foundations, footings, stem walls, slabs-on-grade, structural concrete, retaining walls, and specialty concrete work.
- Manage forming operations including layout, installation, stripping, reshoring, and coordination of various forming systems.
- Coordinate reinforcing steel installation, embeds, sleeves, anchor bolts, and other concrete requirements.
- Plan and execute concrete placements including large pours, scheduled placements, pump operations, and finishing activities.
- Monitor concrete quality, placement procedures, finishing methods, curing practices, and testing requirements.
- Review concrete and forming installations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate sequencing between grading, forming, reinforcing, inspections, concrete placement, and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with General Contractors, builders, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project managers.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, details, and project requirements.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, manpower forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Track production quantities, labor performance, equipment utilization, and project progress.
- Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, manpower tracking, safety records,and project updates.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning discussions.
- Assist with constructability reviews, estimating support, and production planning.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project locations.
- Ensure crews follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and project-specific safety procedures.
- Conduct regular field safety observations and address unsafe conditions.
- Participate in toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and safety planning.
- Coordinate with General Contractor safety teams and site personnel.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in concrete construction with progressive field leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience as a General Superintendent, Concrete Superintendent, or Senior Concrete Foreman.
- Extensive knowledge of concrete placement, forming systems, reinforcing, and structural concrete construction.
- Experience managing multiple crews on commercial and residential construction projects.
- Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings, architectural plans, and construction documents.
- Experience coordinating with General Contractors, builders, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and crews simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with foundations, slabs-on-grade, structural concrete, elevated slabs, and complex forming systems.
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software.
- Strong understanding of labor forecasting, productivity tracking, and construction scheduling.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly walk active construction sites.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access various areas of construction sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Ability to travel between project locations as required.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and overtime when project schedules require.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
