OASIS: Orthopedic and Sports Integrative Solutions- a new department of High Desert Sports and Spine is hiring a motivated candidate to join the team!
We are seeking a highly motivated, patient-focused Shockwave and Medical Laser Technician to join our orthopedic and medical wellness team. This role is well-suited for a healthcare professional or pre-professional student* with a strong understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and an interest in supporting patient recovery and functional outcomes.
The technician will administer non-invasive therapeutic treatments including extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) and class IV medical laser therapy, assist with patient assessments, and support clinical operations in a fast-paced, professional medical environment. Comprehensive training for both modalities will be provided in-office.

*Must have a current Oregon license to provide hands-on patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Treatment Delivery
- Administer shockwave therapy and medical laser treatments according to established protocols and provider direction
- Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety
- Monitor patient response to treatments and report progress or concerns to supervising provider
- Assist in musculoskeletal screening, patient intake, and functional assessments
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and supportive therapies
Clinical Support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ensure treatment rooms, devices, and equipment are properly prepared, cleaned, and maintained
- Follow all clinical safety standards, protocols, and infection control procedures
- Assist with clinic workflow to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care
Patient Experience
- Deliver exceptional patient care with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
- Build rapport and maintain a welcoming, supportive clinical environment
- Support a positive and collaborative team culture
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently licensed in Oregon to provide hands-on patient care: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Athletic Trainer (ATC), Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Chiropractic Assistant (CA).
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal conditions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, professional medical environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree, or additional professional licenses or certifications
- Familiarity with shockwave therapy, laser therapy, or therapeutic modalities (training provided)
- Experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, physical therapy, athletic training, kinesiology, medical massage therapy, or medical wellness clinic
- Experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to assist patients with positioning and treatment setup
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
