Field Service Technician (Class A CDL Required)

Pay: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | On-Call Rotation Required
Travel: Up to 25% (Preferred)
POSITION OVERVIEW
NGPS is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Field Service Technician to support our generator fleet and customers throughout West Texas. This is a 100% field-based role focused on generator maintenance, troubleshooting, uptime, and accurate service documentation at customer sites.
This position is ideal for technicians with mechanical or electrical experience who are comfortable working independently in oilfield and industrial environments and understand the importance of safety, reliability, and precise recordkeeping.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FIELD SERVICE OPERATIONS
- Perform planned and unplanned generator maintenance in the field only
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues at customer sites
- Coordinate professionally with customer personnel during service activities
- Ensure NGPS delivers ultra-premium service quality and maximum generator runtime
DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING
- Accurately document all service work, diagnostics, repairs, and recommendations
- Maintain complete, timely, and accurate service records to support billing and compliance
- Clearly communicate irregularities, follow-up needs, and ongoing equipment issues
SAFETY & VEHICLE MANAGEMENT
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
- Safely operate and maintain company service vehicle
- Maintain a strong safety mindset in active field and oilfield environments
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class C CDL – Required
- Mechanical or electrical experience – Required
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Generator, diesel engine, power generation, or oilfield experience preferred
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation – Required
WORK LOCATION & AVAILABILITY
- In-person, field-based role out of Odessa, TX 79761
- Must be able to commute to or relocate to Odessa prior to start date
