Aquatic Systems Technician – High-End Residential Pools
Somar Pools | South Florida
Somar Pools is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented technician to join our growing team servicing some of South Florida's finest residential properties.
This is not a basic pool cleaning position.
We are building a company focused on Aquatic Systems Management—protecting, maintaining, and improving sophisticated residential aquatic systems. Our technicians don't simply clean pools. They evaluate the entire aquatic environment, identify developing issues, communicate findings, and help clients avoid costly failures before they occur.
If you're someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to continue growing professionally, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Perform weekly service on high-end residential pools and aquatic systems
- Evaluate the overall condition of each property during every visit—not just the water
- Test and balance water chemistry accurately
- Inspect pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, sanitizers, valves, lighting, water features, and other equipment
- Identify developing equipment issues before they become major repairs
- Document findings with clear notes and photographs
- Communicate recommendations to the Service Manager and Repair Department
- Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and work environment
- Deliver exceptional service and professionalism at luxury homes
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Mechanically inclined
- Naturally observant and detail-oriented
- Curious and eager to learn advanced aquatic systems
- Professional, dependable, and accountable
- Comfortable working independently while following established systems
- Proud of producing exceptional work every day
- Able to communicate clearly with clients and coworkers
- Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, notes, and photographs
We believe a great technician doesn't just clean pools—they protect complex aquatic systems and prevent problems before clients ever notice them.
Preferred Experience
- Residential or commercial pool service experience
- Experience with Pentair, Jandy, Hayward, Fluidra, or similar equipment
- Knowledge of pumps, filtration, heaters, salt systems, automation, hydraulics, and water chemistry
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
- Experience with perimeter-overflow pools, surge/collector tanks, fountains, or advanced water features is a plus
- CPO Certification is a plus but not required
Candidates from HVAC, electrical, industrial maintenance, marine systems, mechanical service, or similar technical trades are encouraged to apply.
What Success Looks Like
The people who thrive at Somar Pools are:
- They notice problems that others overlook.
- They take ownership of their work.
- They communicate issues before clients discover them.
- They leave every property better than they found it.
- They continuously learn and improve their technical skills.
- They take pride in representing a premium company.
This position may not be the right fit for someone who prefers rushing through service visits, avoids accountability, or is simply looking for a temporary stop before starting their own business.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay based on experience and technical ability
- Company vehicle
- Paid training and continuing education
- Paid time off
- Performance incentives
- Opportunity for advancement into senior technical and leadership roles
Requirements
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record
